COVID-19 Webinar Series – Older Adults in the COVID-19 Pandemic

Organised by the Policy Research @ HKIAPS, Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

Introduction

While everyone is susceptible to COVID-19, people aged 60 years or over are considered to be one of the most at-risk groups during this pandemic, in terms of higher mortality rate and having more severe symptoms if infected. In response to this risk, most older adults stay at home. This webinar includes two talks about the lives of older adults (relative to those of their younger counterparts) during the COVID-19 pandemic, in terms of their social interactions (online vs. offline), information-seeking patterns, prevalence of mental health problems and confidence towards recommendations on infection control measures in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
